Easter Special: Holy Trinity Church, Knaresborough

Our second Knaresborough church for the Easter holiday is Holy Trinity Church which is basically next to our last feature.

This church is an Anglican church and was designed by J Fawcett way back in the 14th century. More specifically it was constructed during 1856 and 1863 and followed a design for a Gothic structure as was in keeping with the time. The Slingsby family donated the land for the church which at capacity could hold 612 people.

Aside from its dedicated stone glass windows and internal carvings which we didn't witness, there isn't much else we can tell you about this church other than it is a stunning bit of architecture and it's spire can be seen all the way from the castle which is what drew us to it.

We'd love to go back and have a proper look another time, but it seems for the moment any future Yorkshire adventures are off! We've had to cancel our Northern road trip this November as we've decided to buy our first house!

So it is an exciting time for the combined house of the Hawman-Gilbert's, but we still have plenty adventures to share with you even if our adventuring has to go on hiatus for a little while. We've still got our May holiday to look forward to, and plenty of posts to last us a while, not to mention all the local history we have. So stay tuned, plenty to come from us!
