St Kenelm's Church, Minster Lovell
Our final stop on our November 2025 road trip was St Kenelm's church on our way back from Minster Lovell Hall as the ruins sit side by side with the church.
The church was built around 20 years after the hall by William, 7th Baron Lovell who's tomb is also within its walls. So this would have taken place in around 1450, but it seems that a 12th century church already stood here in the 1430s when William built his large house at Minster Lovell as there was pre-existing buildings. It looks like he knocked the church down and completely rebuilt it in the Gothic style which was popular at the time.
Henry VI then gave St Kenelm's to Eton College who still owns it to this day.
Once again only a little baby post as there isn't much to be found as the ruins of Minster Lovell Hall & Dovecot overshadow the church.
